Express Entry New Draw: Questions and Next Steps

Immigrate NowImmigration

our immigration experts can apply for express entry in Canada

One month ago, on February 13th the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 27,332 candidates to apply for Permanent Residence in Canada.

The Comprehensive Ranking System cut-off was 75 at that time. This was an unprecedented draw and the lowest ever score!

Why did this happen?

According to IRCC the immigrants help the Canadian economy to thrive, so they are pioneering new ways to engage those who are in the country and hard at work.

Who are eligible?

The tie-break rule prioritized profiles that have been in the Express Entry Pool for longer, which means that whoever applied for Express Entry in the past and was in the IRCC system for a long time and their score was 75 or more, were invited to apply for PR.

Next Steps:

For those who received an Invitation to Apply (ITA), they have 90 calendar days to:

– Submit a complete application for Permanent Resident in their online account.

OR

– Decline the ITA in their online account (In this case, the candidate’s profile will become “active” in the pool for the remaining days of the profile’s validity and the candidate will be considered for future rounds of invitations. (A lot of self-represented people realized that the information they entered in the Express Entry profile was inaccurate and unfortunately, they would have to decline their invitations. However, at ImmigrateNow, we ensure that all our clients’ information is entered accurately and we make it super easy for them!)

Enter the Pool right now!

It is extremely important you enter and stay in the Pool. You never know how high or low the next score will be, and the only way to improve your chances is by having a live and accurate profile.
