Karan, known to most as KPS, is the CEO of Sunrise and leads its Canadian immigration practice. He works with clients across the full spectrum of immigration matters, from straightforward first applications to the most complex and contested files, and takes particular pride in seeing difficult cases through to the outcome.
Education and executive experience
He studied law at one of India's premier law schools, completed immigration law at an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution, and holds a certificate in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School. Over his career he has held C-suite roles across education, immigration, legal services, and testing, and has worked in Hong Kong, India, and Canada, assisting thousands of clients with their goals. His entrepreneurial work has been recognized with awards from provincial government leaders and other dignitaries.
Areas of practice
His everyday practice covers business and investment migration, Express Entry, study permits, spousal and family sponsorships, provincial nominee applications, and work permits. He also specializes in complex matters, including inadmissibility and misrepresentation, restoration of status, residency obligation, humanitarian and compassionate (H&C) submissions, and the reconsideration or overturning of prior refusals.
Institutional advisory
For institutional clients, particularly designated learning institutions, Karan advises public and private institutions on internationalization and recruitment strategy, and his perspective is well regarded by leaders across the Canadian post-secondary sector.
